John Donahoe is a certified Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer of Integral Yoga , and a Licensed Massage Therapist

John Donahoe, E-RYT-500, LMT, recently relocated to Carpinteria, Ca. from New York City where he was a Yoga Instructor, Teacher Trainer, and Massage Therapist at Integral Yoga Institute-NYC. John is certified in Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels of Integral Yoga as well as Cardiac Yoga. Integral Yoga is a comprehensive Hatha Yoga practice brought to the United States from India in the 1960’s by Sri Swami Satchidananda, the opening speaker at the Woodstock Festival in 1969.

John has lead many workshops in New York including “Spinal Health Thru Yoga”, “Alignment 101”,”Cardiac Yoga”, “Introduction To Yoga” and “Yoga For Surfers”. He was also a Guest Speaker on “Yoga for ALS Patients” for the ALS Association, Greater New York.

John is a self proclaimed “anatomy geek”, graduated with honors from the Swedish Institute – College of Health Sciences in NY, and is now a Licensed Massage Therapist. His approach to massage is intuitive, comprehensive, and tailored to the individual’s needs.

Years ago John took up yoga for the sole purpose of maintaining his lifetime passion of surfing. He had no idea yoga would morph into a second passion of wanting to share with others what he had learned in order to help them work toward “an easeful body, a peaceful mind, and a useful life” (Sri Swami Satchidananda).

“John has a great way of teaching yoga to students of all levels. He focuses on alignment and core strength, which is the foundation of any great yoga practice. John has a compassionate and gentle way of getting the most out of any student that is taking his class. I always look forward to being in class and getting guidance on my practice from him.”

-Mark S., Martial Arts Instructor

“John, you are FANTASTIC! I learned much from your outstanding workshop. You exhibited the PERFECT combination of expertise, empathy, compassion and humility.

“When I left I experienced so much more “space” with my neck (which has always been an “issue” with me).

“I appreciated your INDIVIDUALIZED approach and understanding that each person is different in many ways and that asanas must be “personalized” to take into account their “issues” differences.”
